Pocketpair Launches Indie Publishing Arm, Flooded with Partnership Requests
2025-01-26 09:44:48The community manager at Pocketpair, Bucky, recently announced the formation of a new publishing division within the company, along with his own promotion to Director of Communications and Publishing Manager. The response has been nothing short of overwhelming, as he's been inundated with messages and proposals from indie developers seeking partnerships.
"I think I may have underestimated people's interest," Bucky shared on social media.
Earlier this week, Pocketpair officially unveiled Pocketpair Publishing and their inaugural partnership with Surgent, a studio developing a horror title. Within just 15 hours of the announcement, Bucky reported receiving over 1600 collaboration requests, emails, and proposals from small developers eager to work with them. His social media following has also seen a significant increase.
Bucky outlined the publishing arm's philosophy: "We give you the money. You make the game. We can help with marketing or other things if you need it, but otherwise you can do whatever you want." He emphasized their commitment to empowering developers with financial freedom to create the games they envision, freeing them from the constraints and pressures often imposed by traditional publishers.
The publishing initiative is entirely self-funded by Pocketpair, likely fueled by the success of their creature-collecting game, Palworld. Previously unsure of how to utilize the profits, this new venture provides a clear avenue for reinvesting back into the indie development community.
Interested developers with compelling game concepts are encouraged to submit their proposals through the official Pocketpair website for consideration.
