Behaviour Interactive, the creators of the popular asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight, recently announced the departure of the Hellraiser Chapter from the in-game store in April 2025. This news has sparked disappointment among a significant portion of the player base.

Chapter 21: Hellraiser introduced Elliot Spencer, better known as Pinhead or The Cenobite, as a Killer. The character originates from the iconic 1987 horror film franchise of the same name, based on Clive Barker's 1986 novella, The Hellbound Heart.

Dead by Daylight, launched in 2017, features one-versus-four gameplay where a Killer hunts down Survivors to sacrifice to the Entity.  The game continues to thrive, even boasting celebrity players like The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs.

The announcement regarding Hellraiser's departure was made via a blog post and social media channels. Behaviour Interactive assured players that any content from the chapter unlocked before April 2025 will remain accessible.  A current Last Chance Sale offers 50% off The Cenobite and his cosmetic items.  After April 2025, the Hellraiser Chapter will no longer be available in first-party stores, only remaining accessible within the in-game store until its removal date.

The Hellraiser Chapter's inclusion in Dead by Daylight began in 2021, and the Clive Barker-created character quickly became a fan favorite. Speculation about the reasons for the removal points towards licensing issues, leaving many saddened by the loss of such a unique Killer. Fortunately, the developers have confirmed that Pinhead's voice lines will remain in the game even after the Chapter is removed.

Pinhead is one of 38 Killers currently in Dead by Daylight, possessing unique abilities like Chain Projectiles and the Lament Configuration.  His Perks, including Deadlock, Hex: Plaything, and Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, focus on slowing Generator progression, tormenting Survivors, and extending the thrill of the hunt.
