IGN showcased new gameplay footage of the Korean Soulslike action RPG, Remnant: The First Sentinel, during their recent Fan Fest event.  The video offered a glimpse into the game's combat system, highlighting the challenging encounters players can expect. Remnant: The First Sentinel is set to launch in early 2025 on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series.

In this action RPG, players take on the role of the last guardian, embarking on a heroic adventure to save a world shrouded in darkness. The player's journey revolves around collecting fragments of powerful relics and sealing a mysterious void.

As with many Soulslike-inspired titles, Remnant: The First Sentinel incorporates stamina management and dodging mechanics. Blocking enemy attacks is crucial, and a parry system adds a layer of depth to combat. Successfully parrying an enemy's attack opens up opportunities for devastating counter-attacks.

Players can choose from five distinct weapon types, each forming the core of the game's action. Each weapon boasts unique skills that can be tailored to suit individual playstyles.

Interestingly, Remnant: The First Sentinel forgoes traditional character leveling. Instead, players enhance their abilities through runes, items, and crafting. To reach their full potential, players must delve into challenging dungeons and conquer formidable bosses, expanding the game world and unlocking their character's true power.

While a precise release date remains elusive, Perp Games aims to launch Remnant: The First Sentinel sometime in 2025.
