The upcoming Days Gone Remastered has quickly climbed the ranks to become one of the top 10 pre-ordered games on the PlayStation Store. This achievement comes hot on the heels of its announcement during the February 12, 2025 State of Play livestream.

Fans of the original Days Gone have long campaigned for PlayStation to revisit the post-apocalyptic world, particularly after the mixed reception of the initial launch and the cancellation of a planned sequel.  While a full sequel remains uncertain, this remaster, developed by the original creators, Bend Studio, offers a renewed opportunity to experience the game.  With enhanced visuals, DualSense controller support, and other upgrades, Days Gone Remastered is set for an April 25, 2025 release on PS5 and PC.  Its early pre-order success suggests a promising start.

The remaster hasn't been without its critics.  Some fans have questioned the need for a remastered version, pointing to graphics comparisons that appear minimally different from the original game.  Others have criticized the lack of a discounted upgrade path for players who already own Days Gone through PlayStation Plus.

Despite this criticism, Bend Studio Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister shared the news of the game's pre-order success on Twitter.  A screenshot of the US PlayStation Store rankings showed Days Gone Remastered holding the seventh spot, even outperforming several AAA titles slated for earlier release dates.  This impressive performance, alongside Elden Ring: Nightreign, stands out as both titles are more than two months away from launch, compared to other pre-order chart toppers like Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and WWE 2K25.

This strong pre-order performance is a positive sign for Days Gone Remastered. While some have voiced concerns regarding the remaster's value proposition, the sales figures indicate a significant player base eager to re-experience the post-apocalyptic adventure with enhanced features.  The upcoming release promises a definitive Days Gone experience, revitalizing the original game for a new generation of players.
