Civilization 7's March 2025 Updates: Addressing Player Concerns and Adding New Content
2025-03-01 05:52:54Following its February launch, Civilization 7 has seen a wave of players eager to experience the latest installment in the long-running strategy series. While the game received critical acclaim, player feedback on platforms like Steam highlighted areas for improvement, particularly regarding the user interface and certain gameplay mechanics.
Firaxis Games has been actively responding to this feedback with regular patches and has now outlined a roadmap for March 2025 and beyond. Two significant updates are scheduled for release this month, bringing a mix of quality-of-life improvements, new content, and gameplay adjustments.
The first update, 1.1.0, arrives on March 4th and focuses heavily on UI/UX enhancements, addressing a key concern raised by players. This patch also introduces the Bermuda Triangle as a new natural wonder, re-enables crossplay between PC and consoles (previously disabled for expedited patching), and includes adjustments to the Modern Age's Cultural Legacy Path and Victory conditions. Several multiplayer issues are also being addressed. The Natural Wonder Battle in-game event, initially planned for this update, has been postponed to prioritize quality-of-life improvements.
The second March update, version 1.1.1, is set for March 25th and adds further UI refinements, a Quick Move function, and the ability to customize city and commander names. Mount Everest joins the game as another natural wonder. This update also delivers the second half of the paid Crossroads of the World Collection DLC; the first half being included in the March 4th update.
