Epic Games is poised to significantly enhance the Fortnite player experience with a major server upgrade.  Reports indicate testing is underway in three new regions, promising lower latency and smoother gameplay for millions of casual and competitive players worldwide.

Currently, Fortnite operates servers in eight regions: North America (East, Central, and West), Europe, Brazil, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East. While this covers a large player base, regions like Africa lack dedicated servers, forcing players to connect to distant locations like Europe or the Middle East.

The latest reports reveal Epic Games is currently testing servers in three strategic locations: Southeast Asia (currently without a dedicated server, resulting in high latency), Mexico (where most players connect to the North American West server), and South Africa (where players currently rely on Middle Eastern servers). These additions are expected to dramatically decrease latency for players in these regions, leading to a more responsive and enjoyable gameplay experience.

While the exact launch date remains unconfirmed, it is highly anticipated that these new servers will go live with the launch of Chapter 6 Season 2 on February 21st.  Alongside this infrastructure improvement, speculation suggests potential adjustments to the competitive prize pool are also on the horizon.
