No Man's Sky Update 5.63: Comprehensive Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements
2025-04-09 13:09:41Hello Games has rolled out its April 2025 update for No Man's Sky, continuing its commitment to refining the expansive sci-fi universe. Unlike previous updates that introduced major gameplay additions, this No Man's Sky patch focuses on addressing a slew of reported bugs, ensuring a smoother experience for players.
Since its rocky launch in 2016, No Man's Sky has undergone significant transformations. Hello Games has consistently delivered updates, expanding content and refining mechanics. The recent Relics update introduced a fossil collection system, allowing players to excavate bones, assemble skeletons, and trade or display their finds. Additionally, the Relics expedition offered exclusive rewards, including the skeletal companion and Living Stone jetpack.
Update 5.63 targets bug fixes and gameplay optimizations. Key fixes include reducing planet landing load times, resolving a crash linked to exocraft mining lasers, and addressing multiplayer glitches involving NPCs and invalid spawn locations.
A significant portion of the update addresses issues from the No Man's Sky Relics update. Fixes include correcting fossil decoration pick-up icons, preventing model loss during movement or duplication, and ensuring fossils aren’t mistakenly tradable. The update also resolves text discrepancies, misplaced markers, and VR display issues related to fossils. Multiplayer stability for fossil exhibits has been enhanced, ensuring consistency across platforms.
Beyond fossils, the update rectifies Abandoned Mode bugs, such as missing key technologies like the Atlantid Drive in Research Stations. It also resolves a rare progression block in the In Stellar Multitudes mission and various UI/catalogue errors. PS4 texture streaming has been improved, and multiple crash scenarios—ranging from warping to settlement generation—have been addressed to bolster overall stability.
