Developed by Wild Forest Studio and published by 101XP, the survival strategy game, Night is Coming, has launched a playable demo.

Set in a world inspired by Slavic folklore and the natural beauty of Eastern Europe, Night is Coming tasks players with building and managing a settlement, protecting its inhabitants, and preparing for a looming darkness.

Currently, Night is Coming supports Simplified and Traditional Chinese interface and subtitles. The game is planned for an Early Access release in Q2 2025.

Night is Coming is a survival strategy game set in a fantastical world drawn from Slavic mythology and the landscapes of Eastern Europe.  A relentless darkness consumes the land, forcing survivors to seek refuge and fight for survival each day.

Lead a group of people gripped by fear: build and expand your settlement, gather resources, and defend against the monstrous creatures lurking in the shadows. Train your settlers in crafting and combat skills to ensure their survival.  As resources dwindle, you'll need to venture forth and find new lands… perhaps even discovering a way to push back the encroaching darkness and save the world.

Can you accomplish everything before sunset? Your management skills and strategic thinking will determine your people's fate. Assign tasks, manage resource gathering, ensure adequate food, clothing, and shelter. Recruit new settlers and train them in essential crafts like farming and blacksmithing. Explore the surrounding territories and dispatch warriors to seek rare materials.  Unforeseen lands and random events await.

Each settler is an individual with unique attributes, needs, skills, and strengths. Manage them wisely and utilize their talents to improve the settlement. Settler morale influences their resilience and ability to overcome hardships.

Construct houses for warmth and shelter, workshops for crafting tools, and barracks to train your warriors. Build storage facilities for vital resources. Infrastructure plays a crucial role: upgrade buildings to enhance productivity, provide for your settlers, and strengthen defenses against the impending darkness.

Develop a powerful military force by training warriors with diverse specializations and bolstering border defenses. Directly command your warriors or entrust them with independent operations. Magic is also at your disposal: diverse spells can help meet settler needs and support your forces in battle. Use magic to protect your warriors and inflict damage upon your enemies.

The nights grow longer and colder, but blizzards and freezing temperatures aren't your only adversaries. Portals open, unleashing Prince Vilimir's minions to hunt the survivors. The longer you stay in one place, the more intense the darkness becomes: with each house built and each nest destroyed, the forest grows more oppressive. Ghouls, Drowned, Werewolves, and Nightmares are just some of the creatures that will attempt to destroy your settlement. Defend your land against these monsters and defeat their Barons to relocate to new territories.

Your settlement’s future hinges on your progress. Gather Spirit Energy, Shards of Darkness, technology, and defense points to research new technologies and improve crafting methods. Master agriculture, construct new buildings, and enhance their level and efficiency. Unlock new spells, magical enhancements, warrior subclasses, advanced armor, and weaponry.

Experience a dynamic and ever-changing world with day and night cycles, ambient nature sounds, elemental spirits, changing seasons, and weather effects. All of this is accompanied by a captivating original soundtrack by master instrumentalist Alizbar, along with many other original musical pieces.
