Rumors surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 have intensified following a seemingly accidental reveal on Nintendo's official website.  A section detailing Virtual Game Cards mentions both 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games' and 'Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive games', strongly suggesting the existence of the long-rumored console.

This discovery adds fuel to the fire of existing speculation.  Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed backwards compatibility for the Switch 2 in November 2024, leading many to believe that upgrades for existing titles would be offered. The reference to 'Switch 2 Edition' games seems to confirm this, indicating that players can expect enhanced versions of their favorite Switch games on the new hardware.

The 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' designation implies that select Nintendo Switch games will receive upgrades for the new console.
