Dataminers in the Marvel Rivals community are buzzing with excitement over the potential arrival of a "Negative Zone Gladiator" costume for Human Torch. The anticipated release coincides with the hero's debut in the popular shooter, slated for a major mid-season update on February 21st. This update, as announced by NetEase Games, will also introduce a new map and numerous balance changes.

While unconfirmed, many believe Human Torch will take on the Duelist role. This stems from a 2024 leak that seemingly revealed his ability kit prematurely.  The leak suggested potential zone control tactics, including creating flame walls, and possibly a shared ability with Storm, conjuring fiery tornadoes.  However, these remain rumors and are subject to change, as NetEase Games could have significantly altered his abilities since the leak, assuming the information was ever accurate.

A Marvel Rivals producer recently addressed the ongoing conversation around dataminers, leaks, and misinformation surrounding the popular hero shooter. This follows a tweet from prominent leaker X0X_LEAK, hinting at a darker, Negative Zone-inspired costume for Human Torch.  This classic comic book look features a black suit, devoid of Fantastic Four branding, accented by vibrant flames wrapping around his waist and shoulders. It's a grittier aesthetic for a typically lighthearted character.

The possibility of a darker Human Torch skin has sparked considerable fan discussion.  Previous releases have seen similar treatments, with Invisible Woman receiving her Malice alter ego skin and Mister Fantastic getting his evil variant, The Maker.

Human Torch won't be arriving alone. The Thing is also set to join the roster on February 21st.  Many speculate he will fulfill the Vanguard role, given his robust build and resilience.  Rumors also circulate about an iconic costume featuring a tan broad-brimmed hat and long trench coat.  With a wave of new content imminent, anticipation is high for NetEase Games' next move.
