Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake February Update Preview: Enhanced Features, Gameplay Adjustments, and Bug Fixes

Koei Tecmo has unveiled the content planned for the February update of Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake.  This update brings a host of enhancements and adjustments to the game, along with numerous bug fixes. The update is slated for release sometime in February for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.  A specific release date will be announced later.

**Feature Expansions and Adjustments:**

• Added unique character voices (such as Cao Cao and Zhuge Liang) to the voice edit function for both created and historical officers.

• Added an initial fame setting for created officers.

• Added an option to the initial settings to adjust the frequency with which NPC rulers execute prisoners after battles.

• Added settings to adjust damage bonuses from cooperative attacks and damage dealt to facilities during battle.

• Allowed Governors to assign themselves to domestic affairs (NPC Governors can now assign themselves and carry out domestic tasks).

• Adjusted battle AI:

   - Defensive units will now position themselves near arrow towers and cities for more effective support fire.

   - Reinforcements will now fight more aggressively, positioned further forward than regular troops.

   - Units will actively avoid unfavorable positions, such as burning hexes.

• Reduced black screen time during certain screen transitions.

• Reduced the priority for NPC rulers to appoint their wives or daughters as Governors.

• Shortened the delay before options reappear after declining a sworn sibling or marriage proposal.

• Adjusted NPC free officers to be more likely to start rebellions.

**Bug Fixes:**

• Fixed a potential game data corruption issue occurring during the "Escape from Chang'an" historical scenario.

• Fixed a potential issue where the supplies of the sortie city would abnormally decrease during alliance battles.

• Fixed a potential issue with an officer's rank when recruiting from a free officer corps.

• Fixed an issue where allied AI-controlled main armies wouldn't use stratagems when the player joined a battle as reinforcements.

• Fixed a potential issue where no skills could be learned in the "Virtuous Wife" historical scenario.

• Fixed an issue in the "Lu Bu's Demise" historical scenario where Chen Gong and Gao Shun would die even if they were not under Lu Bu's command.

• Fixed an issue where domestic affairs targets were not synchronized with changes to the domestic affairs growth rate.

• Fixed a potential issue where officers who had already retreated could be captured if the commanding officer retreated last in a battle.

• Fixed an issue where a ruler's commission to search for a free officer would not be cancelled even if the player's force was eliminated.

• Fixed a potential issue where the loyalty of officers who were once comrades might decrease when a free officer corps started a rebellion.

• Fixed an issue where continuous selection wasn't possible when holding down the cancel button and moving up or down within a multi-selectable list.

• Fixed an issue where the selected officer would shift when moving from the "List" to "Officer Details" in the officer selection screen when restarting the game from "Select from Scenarios."

• Fixed a display issue in some officer lists where the learned status and level of the "Illusion" and "Bewitchment" stratagems were reversed.

• Fixed an issue where the "Officer Relationships" in the save and load screens displayed the same content as "Initial Diplomacy."

• Fixed an issue where a famous item CG displayed during a conversation event would persist in subsequent event scenes after skipping.

• Fixed an issue in the "Battle of the Seven Armies" scenario where Cao Pi and Zhen Ji could be married even if they belonged to different forces.

• (Steam) Fixed an issue where text input was not possible in Big Picture mode.

• (Steam) Fixed an issue where videos could not be played in some triple-monitor display environments.

• Fixed several minor bugs.
