CD Projekt Red's recent 2024 financial report has brought exciting news for fans of The Witcher series. The company confirmed that The Witcher Remake is actively under development and is progressing alongside The Witcher 4.

According to CD Projekt Red's joint CEO, Michal Nowakowski, members of The Witcher Remake development team have temporarily joined the team working on The Witcher 4. This strategic move aims to facilitate the creation of essential tools and development kits, ultimately accelerating and streamlining the remake's development process.

While Polish studio Fool's Theory is leading the development of The Witcher Remake, some of their team members are currently assisting CD Projekt Red's core team due to technical dependencies between the projects.  This collaborative approach leverages the expertise of both teams.

Being rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, The Witcher Remake is undergoing significant engine modifications.  The development team is focusing on optimizing the engine's capabilities for open-world RPGs, promising a modern and immersive gaming experience.  While a release date remains unannounced, CD Projekt Red assures fans that the project is actively progressing and plans to support the game post-launch.
