The floodgates of carnage have opened! A public test server for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, granting players unprecedented access to the game's arsenal and progression system.  This standalone server, accessible via a separate Steam client, bypasses the usual limitations, allowing players to immediately experience the latest content and changes without grinding.

Space Marine 2 stormed onto the scene in 2024, captivating players with its visceral combat, stunning graphics, and engaging game modes. Building upon the legacy of its 2011 predecessor, Space Marine 2 amplifies the brutal action, delivering even larger-scale battles against the relentless Tyranid hordes.  Developer Saber Interactive has remained committed to post-launch support, consistently expanding the game with new content and refinements, a commitment now further solidified by the launch of the public test server.

Saber Interactive, the studio behind Space Marine 2, is also rumored to be working on a new title based on a major Hasbro IP.  This exciting news adds another layer of anticipation for fans eager to see what the talented team has in store.

Focus Entertainment, the game's publisher, announced the public test server launch via Twitter, confirming what many players had hoped for. This initial version serves as a preview for the latest patch, allowing players to test a new weapon, a revamped prestige system, and adjustments to weapon perk balancing.  The server will be taken offline once the patch officially rolls out.

The public test server also features a new Operation mission, part of Space Marine 2's PvE offering. The game boasts both a gripping story campaign and a robust online component, split into PvE and PvP modes.  Players can cooperate to overcome challenging missions or engage in fierce 6v6 battles for glory.  Within the test server, all content is unlocked, providing a true sandbox experience to explore the full breadth of Space Marine 2’s features.  Importantly, progression within the test server is separate and does not carry over to the main game.

Previous updates to Space Marine 2 have introduced a wealth of new content, including a new map, revisions to the Battle Barge system, and the introduction of the Biovore, a formidable extremis-level enemy. The launch of this public test server underscores Saber Interactive's dedication to supporting Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and evolving its live-service model.
