Reliable Call of Duty source CharlieIntel has suggested that the Grau 5.56 assault rifle and the HDR sniper rifle are potentially returning to the game. These weapons were highly regarded in Modern Warfare for their balance and effectiveness, making their potential return exciting news for players.

Adding further fuel to the fire, another prominent leaker, TheGhostOfHope, has indicated that the CR-56 AMAX and Kilo 141 assault rifles could also be joining the roster in Season 3. However, this information should be treated with caution, as it remains unconfirmed.

While Activision has officially confirmed Verdansk's return in Spring 2025,  following the trend of bringing back classic maps, the exact date remains unannounced.  The convergence of leaks and rumors pointing towards a March release alongside Season 3 has fueled speculation within the community.

The significance of Verdansk's return is not lost on Activision.  Reports suggest the publisher is pulling out all the stops for its reintroduction, potentially explaining the relative lack of content in Warzone Season 2. While Black Ops 6 received numerous updates, including new maps and modes, Warzone players received only a new perk. Activision cited a focus on gameplay adjustments, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements as the reason for the lighter season, but speculation remains that these efforts were in preparation for Verdansk's comeback.
