The release of the new Fable 4 gameplay footage has sparked renewed discussion regarding the protagonist's visual design.  Journalist Vara Dark compared the updated character model to earlier previews, prompting mixed reactions. Some comments highlighted improvements, noting more natural eyes and expressions, while others expressed continued dissatisfaction with the overall appearance, describing it as 'unattractive' or even 'masculine'. Others focused on the enhanced lighting and graphics, suggesting minimal change to the model itself.

Positive feedback acknowledged progress, particularly with the character's eyes, with some proclaiming she now 'looks human'.  However, a recurring request emerged for character customization options instead of a fixed protagonist.  Some comments expressed hope for further refinements, even jokingly speculating that another year might be needed to fully realize the female character design.
