The popular mobile game Cookie Run: OvenBreak is about to get a unique addition to its extensive character roster.  For the first time in almost a decade, a non-cookie character is joining the game. The new characters, known as the Astronuts, mark only the second instance of a non-cookie joining the game's playable lineup since Space Doughnut was introduced in 2016.

Cookie Run: OvenBreak, the sequel to the 2013 original, boasts a diverse catalog of over 200 playable cookies and pets.  From themed cookies like the Zombie Cookie to crossover characters inspired by Hello Kitty, the game has continuously expanded its roster and its variety.  Developer Devsisters recently unveiled the Astronuts during a livestream, showcasing a new direction for the game's character design.

In the Universe Ablaze update stream on February 26th, Devsisters introduced the Astronuts, an alien species encountered by the cookies. Described as a peanut-like duo, the Astronuts come with their own pet, Squeakspeak.  The stream also teased upcoming additions, including the Space Seed Pirates Epic Costume for the Astronuts and a Pirates' Puppet Master version of their pet, unlockable with Cookie Run Rainbow Cubes.  While no specific release date was provided, the developers confirmed the Astronuts are "coming soon."

The announcement has generated considerable excitement within the Cookie Run community.  Fans on Reddit expressed enthusiasm about the unique addition, eager to see how the Astronuts will play and praising their adorable design. One player expressed interest in learning more about their gameplay mechanics, while another praised their visual appeal.

While players eagerly anticipate the Astronuts' arrival, the latest update, continuing the Sugar Nova Odyssey saga, offers plenty of new content to explore.  The update includes the Legendary Stevia Nova Cookie and a variety of new costumes, providing players with fresh challenges and customization options.
