The 'Dunk & Destruction' downloadable content (DLC) pack for the upcoming WWE 2K25 video game is set to introduce a shocking new roster addition: The Abyss.  This inclusion finally allows fans to simulate the dream match of Abyss versus Kane.

WWE 2K25's DLC offerings boast some truly unexpected characters, making the season pass, or individual DLC purchases, a compelling proposition for many fans.

The first WWE 2K25 DLC pack, 'New Wave,' arrives in May 2025 and features Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and a yet-to-be-revealed celebrity guest.  'Dunk & Destruction,' the second DLC pack, slams into the ring in June 2025 with three unannounced NBA stars, former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali, and the impactful addition of TNA legend, The Abyss.

The Abyss's presence in WWE 2K25 is surprising, given the character's lack of appearances on WWE television programming.  Christopher Joseph Park, the man behind the mask, currently works backstage at WWE.  This, combined with the company's current working relationship with TNA, likely paved the way for his inclusion in the game. For the uninitiated, The Abyss is a masked wrestler known for his hardcore style, clearly influenced by wrestlers like Kane and Mick Foley.  While The Abyss has wrestled Foley in TNA, a match against Kane has never happened in his career.

The inclusion of The Abyss makes the dream match against Kane a virtual reality.  With Kane's current role as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee and Abyss's retirement from active wrestling, a real-life clash seems improbable.  Thankfully, WWE 2K25 allows fans to experience this fantasy matchup when the 'Dunk & Destruction' DLC launches this June.

Beyond 'Dunk & Destruction,' WWE 2K25 has three additional DLC packs planned.  July 2025 sees the release of the 'No Fear' pack, featuring ECW legend New Jack, rising star Jordynne Grace, high-flyer Penta, legendary Bull Nakano, and another special celebrity guest. The 'Attitude Era' pack, arriving September 2025, includes D’Lo Brown, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, Victoria, and Mark Henry.  Finally, the 'Saturday Night's Main Event' pack, scheduled for November 2025, rounds out the roster with Jesse Ventura, Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff, Tito Santana, Junkyard Dog, and Sid Justice.
