The upcoming Genshin Impact Version 5.5 is generating excitement with the official reveal of Varesa, a new five-star Electro character. Alongside Varesa, another Natlan character, the four-star Iansan, has also been confirmed.  Leaks from the current beta version suggest significant improvements to Varesa's abilities.

Pre-release beta testing often leads to leaks, and this update is no different.  Recent leaks indicate substantial buffs for Varesa, particularly to her Passive Talents, which are crucial for character optimization. Her Plunging Attack during the Rainbow Crash effect, activated by her Elemental Skill, now boasts a significantly increased damage multiplier, jumping from 25% to a substantial 60%.

Varesa's second Passive Talent (P2) also sees improvement. When a party member uses a Nightsoul Burst, Varesa will receive a 35% buff, up from the previous 30%. This synergy with Nightsoul mechanics further solidifies her connection to the Natlan region.

Her third Passive Talent (P3), activates when Genshin Impact's Nightsoul points are depleted. Varesa then utilizes Phlogiston to maintain her Sudden Onrush mode.  A new effect added in the beta reduces fall damage while within an area affected by Phlogiston Mechanics, offering further utility.

While connecting characters to specific regions like Natlan enhances immersion, it also presents challenges in team composition.  Many Natlan characters, including Varesa, have abilities that rely on the presence of Nightsoul effects, a mechanic exclusive to the region, much like Fontaine's Bond of Life.
