The Season of Might and Mastery has arrived in Pokémon GO, bringing with it the first new Pokémon of the season: Kubfu!  This powerful Fighting-type Pokémon, originally discovered in the Galar region, will be available starting March 5th during the Powerful Potential event.

Known for its intense training regimen and distinctive white fur ribbons, Kubfu eventually evolves into the formidable Urshifu. Will you guide it to its Single Strike or Rapid Strike Style form?

During the Powerful Potential event, which runs from March 5th at 10:00 AM to March 10th at 8:00 PM local time, trainers can encounter Kubfu through a free Special Research story. This research will be accessible until June 3rd at 9:59 AM local time.  Importantly, Kubfu cannot be traded, transferred to the Professor, or sent to Pokémon HOME.

The Powerful Potential event also marks the debut of Shiny Charcadet!  Hatch 2, 5, 7, and 10 km Eggs for a chance to encounter this fiery Pokémon in its rare shiny form.  Furthermore, a new Timed Research will reward trainers with a Charcadet encounter and useful items.

Trainers will benefit from halved Egg hatching distances throughout the event.  Engage in challenging one- and six-star Max Battles, and conquer one- and three-star Raids. For those seeking additional rewards, an $8 USD ticket offers two Premium Battle Passes and an encounter with Dynamax Kubfu.

Complete Field Research tasks to encounter exciting Pokémon, including Alolan Raichu and Hisuian Typhlosion.
