Xbox Game Pass Welcomes Three New Day-One Indie Titles in April 2025
2025-02-25 05:00:52Xbox Game Pass continues to expand its library with the addition of three exciting indie titles arriving as day-one releases this April. Joining previously announced games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, these new additions promise to make April an even more enticing month for subscribers.
2025 has already proven to be a strong year for the service, boasting day-one additions such as Avowed, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Eternal Strands. Microsoft's January Xbox Developer Direct also highlighted key April releases, including the French RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the highly anticipated action-adventure title South of Midnight, with Commandos: Origins later confirmed to be joining the April lineup.
The latest ID@Xbox Showcase revealed Descenders Next, Blue Prince, and Tempopo as the newest day-one additions coming to Xbox Game Pass in April. Descenders Next, an extreme sports title from RageSquid featuring snowboarding, downhill skating, and more, launches on April 9th. Following closely behind is Blue Prince, a unique puzzle game exploring the mysteries of a shifting mansion, arriving on April 10th. Finally, music-focused puzzle game Tempopo, where players conduct adorable creatures to rescue musical flowers, will be available on April 17th.
As is typical with day-one releases, these titles will be available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, but not for those on the standard Xbox Game Pass plan.
The ID@Xbox Showcase also delivered the surprise shadow drop of Balatro, the poker-inspired deckbuilding game that took the gaming world by storm in 2024. Nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024 (ultimately losing to Astro Bot), Balatro's arrival on Game Pass is a significant win for subscribers.
Beyond the April releases, the showcase also highlighted several other indie titles heading to Game Pass. 33 Immortals arrives on March 18th, followed by Revenge of the Savage Planet on May 8th. Also announced were Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, Tanuki Pon’s Summer, Buckshot Roulette, and Echo Weaver, though release dates for these titles remain unconfirmed. While some, like Buckshot Roulette, are already available on PC via Steam, others, like Moonlighter 2, are planned for simultaneous release on PC and Xbox.
