The upcoming split-screen co-op game, PowerWash Simulator 2, is officially heading to the Nintendo Switch 2.  While Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 in January, several developers had already begun confirming their games for the new console, even before the official announcement.

Independent developers were among the first to announce Switch 2 versions of their games. Titles like Bestiario and My Time at Evershine were confirmed in the months leading up to the Switch 2's reveal.  Yooka-Replaylee was also added to the growing list of confirmed titles. Nintendo itself has officially announced the new Mario Kart game for the Switch 2.

FuturLab recently announced PowerWash Simulator 2, set for release in 2025, boasting improved graphics, new challenges, and split-screen co-op functionality.  The initial trailer confirmed releases for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, with no mention of a Nintendo Switch 2 version. However, Eurogamer subsequently confirmed that the game is indeed in development for Nintendo’s new console.

This adds another title to the expanding roster of games coming to the Switch 2. Fans eager for more information won’t have to wait long. A dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2nd at 8:00 am CT. While Nintendo hasn't revealed the specifics of the event, it's highly anticipated that it will confirm the Switch 2's release date, price, and pre-order details.  It is also very likely that the Direct will showcase the first wave of Switch 2 games, highlighting both launch titles and games releasing shortly thereafter.

Numerous rumors circulate regarding Nintendo's plans for the Switch 2. One prominent rumor suggests a new open-world Super Mario game is in development, potentially releasing as early as this year. While a new 3D Super Mario title is almost a certainty for the Switch 2, the open-world aspect remains speculation. In the meantime, fans can anticipate the new Mario Kart, PowerWash Simulator 2, and the numerous other confirmed titles coming to the next-generation console/handheld hybrid.  More concrete information regarding the Switch 2 and its games will be unveiled on Wednesday, April 2nd.
