The latest mid-season update for Overwatch 2 has introduced the fifth Mythic weapon skin, and it's a stylish addition for Widowmaker.  Called "Dame Chance," this elegant yet menacing sniper rifle is said to be a gift from Maximilien, Talon's notorious financier. The weapon boasts distinctive sound effects, a luminous ammunition core, and spider-like UI elements that track eliminations, evolving as Widowmaker takes down her targets.

Dame Chance also offers unique reactive qualities. Unlocking all tiers grants access to a special weapon flourish where Widowmaker spins her Grappling Hook, and an on-kill effect featuring a striking purple explosion reminiscent of a spider's web.

Acquiring Dame Chance follows the same pattern as previous Mythic weapon skins in Overwatch 2: through the Mythic Shop.  The complete weapon skin costs 80 Mythic Prisms – 50 for the base skin, and 10 for each of the three upgrade tiers that unlock the reactivity, weapon flourish, and kill effect.  Alternatively, players can purchase a bundle containing Dame Chance and 20 Battle Pass tier skips for $40.

Interestingly, of the five Mythic weapon skins released so far, three belong to snipers: Ana, Ashe, and now Widowmaker.  These three heroes have also received Mythic hero skins throughout Overwatch 2's 15 seasons.  While the focus on snipers makes sense given the high skill ceiling required to play them effectively, some players are hoping to see future Mythic weapon skins branch out to other hero roles.  It remains to be seen when Hanzo, currently the only other sniper in Overwatch 2, will receive his own Mythic weapon.
