According to market research firm Newzoo's January 2025 revenue and popularity rankings for Europe and North America, Marvel Contest of Champions, released in December of the previous year, maintained its strong performance, remaining in the top five one month later.

The game topped the PC platform popularity charts and climbed from 6th to 2nd place in revenue rankings. It also secured a position within the top 5 highest-earning games on PlayStation.

January saw two new entries in the PC revenue charts: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. Both titles recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releasing on January 30th. Despite only having two days included in the reporting period, it still managed to break into the top 20. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, also a late January release, debuted at the 10th spot.  Impressively, it ranked 20th overall in revenue, a significant jump from its 138th position the previous month.
