Red Hook Studios has released a trailer showcasing the free 'Kingdoms' update for their gothic horror RPG, Darkest Dungeon 2.  Launching on January 27th (January 28th Beijing time), this update promises a significant overhaul of the game's structure.

'Kingdoms' introduces a completely redesigned gameplay experience, existing alongside the original game mode. Players will defend against new invading forces as they traverse the map, upgrade their tavern, complete quests, and ultimately confront a final boss.

This substantial update is free for all current owners of Darkest Dungeon 2.  Simultaneously, Red Hook will launch the paid 'Inhuman Bondage' DLC, featuring the new Crypts mini-region, a new enemy faction, the return of the fan-favorite Flagellant class from the original Darkest Dungeon, and accompanying trinkets and a fully voiced backstory for the character.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is currently priced at $19.99 USD on Steam. A discount on the base game is planned following the launch of the update and DLC. The historical low price for Darkest Dungeon 2 is $9.99 USD.
