Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind Gets Major Gameplay Enhancements
2025-02-20 02:28:15The side-scrolling beat 'em up, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, is getting a power boost with two major updates. While 2024 saw no new Power Rangers series, fans enjoyed this nostalgic throwback to classic brawlers, pitting players against Robo-Rita in a story linked to the 2023 Netflix special, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always.
Developer Digital Eclipse has continued supporting the game since its December launch, addressing initial player concerns with patches. The first update improved player movement, Zord and Megazord sequences, and Time Disruptor obstacles.
These latest updates promise to be the biggest yet. The first introduces several key features, including an upgrade system where players can enhance their characters with skill points, "Morpher" modifiers to alter gameplay, a "Power Blast" attack, and a "Ground Recovery" move for quicker recovery.
This first update is rolling out to PC and consoles this week, with the Nintendo Switch version following shortly after. A second update, scheduled for spring, will expand multiplayer functionality, enabling six Rangers to team up across six different consoles. These features will also be included in the physical edition launching on May 30.
Initially met with mixed reviews, Rita's Rewind has benefited from ongoing updates addressing player feedback. Currently, the focus remains on refining the existing game rather than developing DLC.
