Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 is bringing a welcome change to camo challenges. Players will now be able to unlock and equip any Special Camo after obtaining just five Military Camos for a weapon. This translates to only 30 headshots required per weapon, down from the previous 100.

This adjustment addresses player feedback regarding the underutilization of the vast selection of Special Camos.  Previously, unlocking all nine Military Camos was a prerequisite, a grind many players found tedious. This change, effective with the Season 2 launch, should significantly streamline the process.

The declining player count for Call of Duty on Steam adds pressure for a successful Season 2 update.  Following the longest first season in franchise history, players are anticipating the fresh content and features.  Activision has also committed to addressing community concerns, including updates to Ranked Play and allowing console players to disable crossplay due to ongoing hacking issues on PC.

The official Season 2 patch notes confirm these camo challenge changes. Treyarch Studios acknowledges the community feedback and aims to make Special Camos more accessible.  The reduced headshot requirement should encourage greater utilization of the 250+ unique Special Camos.

The camo grind has been a significant motivator for Black Ops 6 players. Unlocking Dark Matter, the highest camo in Multiplayer, requires completing all Military Camos, two Special Camos, and four Mastery Camos.  While the latter two categories offer diverse challenges, the Military Camos' headshot requirement has been a point of contention.

Season 2 introduces several other improvements, including a highly requested camo challenge tracker.  Similar to the feature in Modern Warfare 3 (2023), players can track up to 10 camo challenges simultaneously with real-time updates.
