The upcoming indie game 'InZoi' is making headlines for its unusual approach to mortality.  Gamespot recently reported that the game will feature 16 unique ways for your character to meet their demise, mirroring the perils of modern life.

Game director Kim Hyung Jun elaborated on the game's morbid mechanics: “Death is a core feature of 'InZoi'. Currently, there are 16 ways a character can die.  They might slip and fall in the bathroom, or succumb to food poisoning after eating expired food.  Even something as mundane as fixing an appliance can turn deadly if they're electrocuted. While we've kept the probability low, appliance malfunctions are a recurring event.”

One particularly intriguing death mechanic revolves around the concept of social validation.  As Kim explains, “In the modern world, many find fulfillment through external validation.  This death mechanic reflects that reality.  For example, if a character gets into an argument and rumors spread, creating negative public opinion, a drastic drop in their validation level can lead to death.”

Fortunately, 'InZoi' offers a 'time rewind' feature, providing a second chance for characters who have succumbed to the dreaded social death.  Other confirmed causes of death include traffic accidents, drowning, old age, fire, and starvation.  Intriguingly, eight additional death scenarios remain shrouded in mystery, promising further surprises for players.
