Whispers of a Halo: Combat Evolved remake have circulated among fans for some time, sparking excitement and anticipation. While Halo Studios remains tight-lipped, recent leaks provide tantalizing hints of this potential project.

Prominent leaker Rebs Gaming suggests that the rumored remake entered pre-production in January 2024 and has now transitioned into full production.  This aligns with Halo Studios' previously announced plans to ramp up hiring as projects progress, with several recent hiring waves seemingly confirming this trajectory.

The transition to Unreal Engine 5, along with renders showcasing iconic Halo: Combat Evolved imagery, further fuels speculation about the remake's existence.  While not a confirmation, it certainly adds weight to the rumors.

Halo Infinite's successful campaign marked a welcome return for the franchise.  However, a potential remake of Combat Evolved could offer a fresh perspective and tap into the nostalgic appeal of the original game.

Rebs Gaming also sheds light on another rumored Halo project at Certain Affinity, codenamed Ekur.  With development potentially starting in 2022 and dedicated testing servers established in June 2024, Ekur may precede the Combat Evolved remake in terms of release. However, it's crucial to remember that these details are currently unconfirmed.

Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, the prospect of a new Halo game or even an official remake announcement is certainly within the realm of possibility.  While Halo Studios operates under a veil of secrecy, fans eagerly await news of what lies ahead.
