The latest Nintendo Direct event was entirely dedicated to the Nintendo Switch 2, unveiling the console's innovative features, release date, and a selection of its games. Following the event, a total of 21 launch titles were confirmed, including some highly anticipated releases.

Among the Nintendo Switch 2 launch titles are Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Hogwarts Legacy, Mario Kart World, Split Fiction, Street Fighter 6, and enhanced editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Sega, a long-time partner of Nintendo, has already confirmed five games for the Switch 2, with Sonic X Shadow Generations being the latest addition.

Sega has officially announced that Sonic X Shadow Generations will be available for the Switch 2 on its release date, June 5. This remaster of the 2011 classic Sonic Generations features a brand-new storyline starring Shadow the Hedgehog. The game has received mostly positive reviews and is expected to be a standout title in the Switch 2's launch lineup.

This brings the total number of confirmed Switch 2 launch games to 22, with three of them being from Sega. In addition to Sonic X Shadow Generations, Sega is also bringing Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S and Yakuza 0: Director's Cut to the console at launch. Other Sega titles, such as Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army and Two Point Museum, are also in development for the Switch 2, but their release dates remain unannounced.

With the Switch 2's release date still over a month away, there's a possibility that more games will be added to the launch lineup. However, Nintendo is unlikely to announce any additional first-party titles, so fans will have to make do with Mario Kart World and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour for now.
