With the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows just around the corner, Ubisoft has unveiled exciting details about its first expansion, Claws of Awaji, and core gameplay elements.  Despite previous delays, anticipation remains high for this installment, especially after positive hands-on previews.

The Claws of Awaji DLC promises over 10 hours of additional content, taking players to the region of Awaji, where they will encounter a new faction, the Sanzoku Ippa, and face deadly new foes. Players will also wield the Bō, a new weapon type for Naoe.  This expansion is being developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the team behind Assassin's Creed Mirage, allowing Ubisoft Quebec to concentrate on polishing the main game.

The previously enigmatic Animus Hub, initially codenamed 'Infinity,' has finally been explained. While specific features remain undisclosed, Ubisoft has confirmed its integral role in the overall narrative and player experience.

Claws of Awaji will be available for free to players who pre-order any version of Assassin's Creed Shadows.  Those who don't pre-order can purchase the DLC separately later in 2025. Another pre-order bonus is the Thrown to the Dogs bonus quest.
