World of Warcraft's Turbo Boost Event: What Players Need to Know
2025-04-25 05:17:34World of Warcraft has unveiled its Turbo Boost event, designed to help players gear up for the remainder of The War Within Season 2. Running from May 13 until the launch of Patch 11.2, this event introduces a weekly quest for extra raid gear, enhanced Delve rewards, and more progression boosts.
Patch 11.1.5, released on April 22, brought the Nightfall scenario, Cooldown Manager, and the Winds of Mysterious Fortune leveling event. This update marks the first of two planned between Patch 11.1 and Patch 11.2, positioning players about a third of the way through Season 2.
The Turbo Boost event accelerates gearing and progression across multiple aspects of the game:
- Gear Upgrades: Hero and Myth gear upgrade tracks extended to 8 levels (previously 6).
- Increased Drops: Mythic+ dungeons now drop Warband until Equipped gear twice as often.
- Crest Cap Removed: The limit on Crests has been lifted.
- Valorstones Transfer: Players can now share Valorstones across their Warband characters.
- Delve Bonuses: Delves grant extra Crests, Valorstones, Delver's Journey progress, and Brann experience.
- Crafted Gear Enhancement: Augmentation Matrices can now improve Spark of Fortune crafted gear.
A brand-new weekly quest allows players to earn Puzzling Cartel Chips by defeating four Liberation of Undermine bosses. These chips can be exchanged for raid gear at Wrexxle in Dornogal:
- 3 Chips: Purchase any piece of raid gear.
- 6 Chips Maximum: Per character, allowing two gear purchases weekly.
- Heroic/Mythic Restrictions: Players must first defeat the associated boss on the respective difficulty.
While many appreciate the early-season improvements, some players are disappointed by the Heroic and Mythic gear restrictions. Comparisons to past systems like Shadowlands' Puzzling Cartel Dinars and Dragonflight's Antique Bronze Bullions have sparked debate.
Additionally, the staggered rollout of Patch 11.1.5 content and initial bugs have left some players unsatisfied. The community hopes for further refinements in future updates.
