Among these benefits are complimentary upgrades to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom in their enhanced Switch 2 Edition versions. Nintendo Switch Online serves as Nintendo's answer to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass, offering online multiplayer access and a curated library of classic games from older consoles.

Currently, Nintendo Switch Online is available in two subscription tiers. The base tier, priced at $19.99 annually, includes online multiplayer functionality and access to retro titles from the NES, SNES, and Game Boy libraries.
