The highly anticipated survival crafting game, Forever Skies, is finally leaving early access and launching on PC and PlayStation 5 on April 14, 2025.  Having been available in early access on PC since June 22, 2023, this full launch marks a significant milestone for developer Far From Home, especially after their February 2024 announcement of a PlayStation 5 console exclusivity deal with Sony.

Forever Skies presents a unique first-person survival experience set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by an ecological disaster. The game offers a compelling narrative that resonates with themes of climate change and humanity's impact on the environment. Players navigate this desolate world aboard a customizable airship, their mobile base of operations.  This airship allows them to explore new territories, scavenge for resources, and unravel the secrets behind a devastating illness afflicting mankind.

The launch trailer confirms the April 14, 2025 release date, marking the first opportunity for PlayStation 5 players to experience the full game beyond the demo.  Pre-orders offer a 72-hour early access period and a supporter pack containing five exclusive in-game cosmetic items.  Forever Skies can be enjoyed solo or with up to three other players in cooperative mode, although cross-platform play is not currently supported.

Far From Home has unveiled a post-launch roadmap via a Steam announcement, highlighting an upcoming update focused on enhancing the airship mechanics.  Given the airship's central role as both home and transportation, this update promises to significantly impact gameplay.
