Silent Hill f Denied Classification in Australia Due to Disturbing Content

The disturbing content warning for Silent Hill f, present since its initial announcement, has unfortunately resulted in a significant setback. The Australian Classification Board has refused to classify the game, effectively banning its sale within the country.

While the Australian Classification Board hasn't officially disclosed the reasons for the ban, media speculation points toward the game's content exceeding generally accepted community standards.  Concerns have been raised regarding depictions of child abuse, discrimination, bullying, torture, and extreme violence.

Developed with a story by Ryukishi07, Silent Hill f has also received a CERO:Z rating (18+) in Japan, marking the first time a game in the series has received such a restrictive rating from the Japanese government.

The game itself carries explicit content warnings, cautioning players about depictions of discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug use, torture, and extreme violence.

A disclaimer within the game clarifies that the societal views and traditions of characters, set in the 1960s, reflect the historical context and do not represent the values of the development team.

Players are encouraged to stop playing and seek support if they experience any discomfort.
