The Epic Games Store has significantly enhanced its mobile offerings by switching to weekly free game giveaways.  Previously, mobile users on Android and iOS received free games monthly.  This change brings the mobile platform in line with the PC version of the Epic Games Store, where weekly giveaways have been a long-standing tradition.

Earlier this year, Epic Games expanded its digital storefront to iOS users in the EU and Android users globally.  Mirroring the successful PC giveaway program, the company began offering free mobile titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Bloons TD 6 on a monthly basis.  Now, this offering has been amplified with the shift to a weekly schedule.

As of March 20, 2025, Epic Games Store users can download free games on mobile every week.  Currently, Eastern Exorcist, a side-scrolling action RPG, and Super Meat Boy Forever, a 2D platformer with procedurally generated levels, are available until March 27.  Every Thursday, a new selection of premium titles will be offered for free, mirroring the PC platform's schedule.

This synchronized approach streamlines the giveaway process and avoids potential confusion arising from different schedules on PC and mobile.  Furthermore, the increased frequency of free games on mobile provides a stronger incentive for users to download the Epic Games Store client, potentially boosting its mobile user base.

This move aligns with Epic Games’ stated goals for its storefront, outlined in a February 2025 update.  The company aims to expand its mobile games library and implement various improvements across the PC platform.  This recent change for mobile users signifies a promising future for the Epic Games Store on both Android and iOS.
