WoW Classic Season of Discovery Unleashes Original Content in Phase 8

World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery is about to embark on its most innovative chapter yet. Phase 8, launching on April 8th, marks the first phase composed entirely of original content, diverging from the familiar path of previous updates.

While Phase 7 saw the return of Naxxramas, a beloved raid from the original game, Phase 8 promises uncharted territory for seasoned adventurers.  The update kicks off with the introduction of New Avalon, a Scarlet Crusade outpost previously only seen in the Death Knight starting experience of Wrath of the Lich King.  Players will collaborate with a splinter faction of the Scarlet Crusade, venturing behind enemy lines to gain the trust of the populace and unlock new crafting recipes and rewards.

Following closely behind on April 10th, the Scarlet Enclave raid opens its doors.  This 20-40 player raid, situated in the corrupted Scarlet headquarters at Tyr's Hand, features eight challenging bosses. Datamined information suggests players will encounter familiar faces, including a living version of the Forsaken leader Lilian Voss, adding an intriguing layer of lore to the encounter.

Simultaneously, a new Legendary weapon questline will become available for Warriors, Hunters, and Paladins.  While Blizzard remains tight-lipped about the specifics of this "fallen weapon," speculation points towards the iconic Ashbringer.  Hints discovered within the PTR suggest a journey to Mount Hyjal may be necessary to purify the legendary blade.

Previous Season of Discovery phases introduced original elements, such as the Molten Core boss encounter and the Karazhan Crypts dungeon. However, Phase 8 stands apart as the first update comprised entirely of original content. This bold move positions it as one of the most unique and exciting developments in World of Warcraft Classic to date.
