Released in early 2024, Helldivers 2 quickly became a hit, establishing itself as Sony's flagship live service title. Developer Arrowhead Studios revitalized the 2015 original, transitioning from a top-down perspective to a dynamic third-person experience.  Over a year later, Helldivers 2 continues to thrive with regular content updates and feature additions, consistently engaging its player base.  A recent leak, however, has ignited excitement with hints of a new enemy faction arriving soon.

If a fourth faction joins Helldivers 2, it may offer a unique twist on existing Automaton and Illuminate structures.  According to leaker Iron_S1ghts, a new sub-faction known as The Incineration Corps is on the horizon.  These flamethrower-wielding Automatons are said to be based in Matar Bay, one of Helldivers 2’s many locations, due to the presence of incendiary ammunition. Their intimidating description warns that they “will not resist until they have razed all that humankind holds dear.” The leak suggests multiple enemy types within this sub-faction, each utilizing incendiary weaponry.

A leaked in-game screenshot showcases these new enemies, revealing the Incineration Corps' distinct white and red color scheme.  While their official arrival date remains unknown, their presence is sure to intensify the challenges players face.  Helldivers 2 launched with two formidable factions: Automatons and Terminids.  Survival in this challenging co-op experience relies on strategic weapon and armor choices, with specific Stratagems proving vital against tougher adversaries.

While The Incineration Corps’ debut remains uncertain, players can currently engage with Helldivers 2's latest major content update, Omens of Tyranny.  This update brought significant changes, introducing The Illuminate as a new faction alongside the existing Terminids and Automatons. Launched at the end of 2024, this substantial update paved the way for further expansion in 2025, promising an even richer Helldivers 2 experience.
