WWE 2K25 has launched to a mixed reception on Steam, despite garnering positive reviews from critics upon its initial release. While many lauded it as the best entry in years, the PC version appears to be facing significant criticism.

Critics praised WWE 2K25 for its expansive roster and diverse game modes, culminating in a high average review score and strong recommendations.  However, the positive consensus doesn't seem to extend to the PC player base on Steam.

The disparity in player experiences stems from the PC version being based on the older generation console release, rather than the current-gen version available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.  This has led to several key features being absent from the PC port.

A major point of contention among PC players is the exclusion of "The Island" game mode, a heavily advertised multiplayer experience exclusive to the current-gen consoles. Many Steam reviews cite this missing content as a significant drawback, especially considering the premium price point of the PC version.  This omission also affects Community Creations, limiting the availability of custom content for PC players.

The lack of "The Island" represents a significant technical hurdle, making it unlikely for Visual Concepts to implement it into the PC version post-launch.  Players hoping for a resolution to this issue shouldn't hold their breath.

Beyond the missing game mode, the last-gen port also impacts the overall graphical fidelity and performance on PC.  Players have expressed disappointment with the visual quality, particularly compared to the current-gen versions.

Despite the negative feedback surrounding the PC port, 2K has outlined a DLC roadmap for WWE 2K25, promising post-launch content throughout the remainder of 2025.  Whether these additions will be enough to appease disappointed PC players remains to be seen.
