The recent Genshin Impact 5.5 Special Program livestream unveiled a wealth of information about the upcoming update, including two new characters, Varesa and Iansan, hailing from the enigmatic Collective of Plenty tribe in Natlan.

This tribe is the first to be revealed from the Pyro nation, hinting at a new questline exploring this fiery region. The Special Program also provided three redemption codes offering players a total of 300 Primogems and various enhancement materials.

Primogems remain a crucial currency in Genshin Impact, allowing players to wish for new characters on the limited banners. Version 5.5 introduces Varesa, anticipated to arrive around March 26, as a new main DPS character. Her kit revolves around Plunging Attacks, a unique mechanic not often emphasized in the game.

By utilizing her Plunging Attack, Varesa accumulates Nightsoul points, which, upon reaching a certain threshold, significantly amplify her subsequent attack's damage.  Her optimal playstyle combines her Elemental Skill, Charged Attack, and Plunging Attack.

Iansan, Varesa's teacher and a new Electro character, will accompany her on the same banner. HoYoverse hinted at a synergy between their abilities, further incentivizing players to wish for both.  Xianyun will join Varesa and Iansan in the first banner phase.

The second phase features reruns for the popular characters Xilonen and Venti. Players who missed Xilonen's previous banner will have another opportunity to obtain this powerful Natlan support character, considered by many to be one of the best in the game.

Beyond the character banners, the update introduces a new subregion within Natlan. This unexplored territory will showcase iconic landmarks like the Great Volcano of Tollan, offering players new environments to explore and secrets to uncover.
