Veteran video game composer Grant Kirkhope, celebrated for his musical contributions to iconic titles such as Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, GoldenEye 007, and Perfect Dark, has recently reiterated his lack of optimism for a new installment in the beloved Banjo-Kazooie series.  His extensive career also includes work on more recent games like Yooka-Laylee and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

In a recent tweet, Kirkhope expressed his pessimism, stating,  "I reiterate I have ZERO hope of another Banjo game. Plus you hard core fans would instantly hate it/ pick it apart no matter how good it was, it wouldn't work."  This blunt statement effectively throws cold water on any lingering hopes fans might have harbored for a Banjo-Kazooie revival.

Despite persistent rumors circulating about a potential Banjo-Kazooie resurgence, developer Rare has remained tight-lipped on the matter.  It's important to note that Kirkhope's statement doesn't confirm or deny the existence of a Banjo-Kazooie remake or sequel currently in development.  His perspective is simply his own and not necessarily reflective of any official plans.

Perhaps realizing the potential negativity of his earlier remarks, Kirkhope later followed up with a more conciliatory tweet: "I hope that last tweet didn’t sound mean, the BK fan world is a wonderful thing, the reaction when banjo went into smash bros will stay with me for life."  He acknowledged the positive and passionate community surrounding the Banjo-Kazooie franchise and highlighted the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response to the character's inclusion in Super Smash Bros.
