Warhorse Studios has delivered on its promise with the first major free content update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.  This substantial patch addresses a plethora of bugs and glitches that players encountered since the game's February launch, while also adding exciting new features.

The update, affectionately dubbed the "barber update," allows players to finally personalize Henry's appearance with a variety of new hairstyles and beards.  This highly requested feature adds another layer of immersion to the already detailed world of KC:D2.

The update, available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, introduces the barber to the towns of Zhelejov and Kuttenberg. Beyond the barber, update 1.2 boasts a massive list of improvements, including refined combat mechanics, polished animations, enhanced NPC behavior, and performance optimization.

A key addition for PC players is the official integration of mod support via Steam Workshop. While mods were previously accessible through platforms like NexusMods, Steam Workshop integration streamlines the process, allowing players to easily browse, install, and manage mods with a simple click.

While the highly anticipated Hardcore mode was not included in this update, Warhorse Studios assures players that it's still on the horizon. This challenging mode will drastically alter gameplay, featuring a minimalist UI, no player marker on the map, and the mandatory selection of three negative perks.

The comprehensive list of bug fixes and improvements in Update 1.2 addresses numerous issues reported by players. Combat has been rebalanced and refined, with adjustments to multi-hit combos, animations, and enemy AI.  Crime and reputation systems have been reworked, making NPC reactions more realistic and consistent.  The game world has received numerous visual and environmental enhancements, along with significant performance optimizations.

Other noteworthy improvements include enhancements to Mutt’s functionality, adjustments to random events, rebalancing of skills and perks, updates to horse riding mechanics, and platform-specific fixes for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam Deck.
