Skydance New Media's upcoming Marvel game, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, is generating significant buzz, particularly surrounding its potential release window.  The game, which offers a unique World War 2 setting, sees Captain America teaming up with an intriguing cast of characters, including Black Panther, Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones, and Wakandan spy Nanali, to combat the nefarious Hydra organization.

The voice of Black Panther, veteran actor Khary Payton, known for his roles as Cyborg in Teen Titans and various other Marvel and DC projects, recently offered a tantalizing glimpse at the game's projected launch. In an interview, Payton expressed his excitement for the project and indicated a potential Holiday 2025 release, stating, “We’re still working. We’re planning on 2025…We’re thinking like a Christmas situation. But I'm so excited.”

While this isn't an official confirmation, it does offer a hopeful timeframe for eager fans.  Payton's enthusiasm for the project is palpable, and his involvement adds another layer of anticipation for the game.

The game's narrative focuses on Captain America's early days as a super soldier, thrust into the heart of World War 2. The alliance between Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of that era, is described as “uneasy,” promising an interesting dynamic between these two iconic heroes.

2025 is shaping up to be a busy year for Captain America fans, with his presence already confirmed in Marvel Rivals.  Additionally, the recent theatrical release of Captain America: Brave New World further fuels the excitement.  For Black Panther enthusiasts, a separate standalone game is also in development by EA and Cliffhanger Games, focusing on the modern-day version of the character.

While a Holiday 2025 release for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra remains speculative, a November launch would strategically position the game ahead of the lucrative Black Friday and holiday shopping season.  Fans will undoubtedly be watching closely for official announcements in the coming months.
