Microsoft Celebrates Call of Duty's Cross-Platform Success and Indiana Jones' Strong Debut
2025-01-31 17:36:46Following its acquisition of the Call of Duty franchise, Microsoft is celebrating the series' triumph as a top-selling title on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles last quarter.
Launched in October, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 proved a massive success for Microsoft, earning a special mention in the company's latest financial report.
"Black Ops 6... saw higher engagement in its launch quarter than any other premium title in franchise history," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared during an investor call.
"We also saw strong momentum in Xbox Cloud Gaming, with hours played reaching a record 140 million this quarter," he added.
Nadella also highlighted the well-received Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, revealing encouraging initial figures for MachineGames' globe-trotting adventure.
"Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has garnered significant critical acclaim and has already been played by over four million players," Nadella stated.
Both figures encompass players who purchased the games outright and those accessing them through Game Pass subscriptions on PC and Xbox.
Furthermore, with the PlayStation 5 release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny anticipated sometime in the first half of this year, the title's performance on Sony's console will be one to watch.
