The game also promises open-ended encounters, granting players agency in how they approach both human adversaries and the otherworldly entities that inhabit this post-apocalyptic landscape.

The PlayStation Store page for Death Stranding 2 hints at a complex narrative, urging players to "expect the unexpected." Sam and his allies are once again tasked with saving humanity from the brink of extinction.  Central to the plot is the question of connection in a fragmented world, a theme explored in the original Death Stranding but likely recontextualized in this sequel.

Death Stranding 2 promises to expand upon the environmental diversity of its predecessor.
