Marvel Rivals Compensates Players with 200 Units After Server Outage
2025-02-25 23:13:40NetEase Games announced that all Marvel Rivals players will receive 200 Units as compensation for an unexpected server downtime on February 24th. The game, launched in late 2024, has quickly amassed over 40 million players, showcasing its widespread popularity.
Marvel Rivals features three distinct in-game currencies. Chrono Tokens, earned through challenges, progress the battle pass. Units, also earned through challenges, purchase cosmetics like skins, emotes, sprays, and bundles. Lattice, the premium currency, can be bought with real money or earned through the battle pass and can be used in place of Chrono Tokens or Units.
The server outage prompted an outpouring of concern and frustration from fans on social media. While the developers acknowledged the issue on Discord, they didn't specify a restoration timeline. Thankfully, service resumed after several hours.
The 200 Unit compensation was well-received by players, with many praising NetEase Games' responsiveness. The company's recent success also extends to a popular mid-season patch, introducing new heroes and the Midnight Features 2 event with Unit-rewarding quests.
Adding to the positive momentum, NetEase Games recently implemented a system for converting excess Chrono Tokens into Units. Players can exchange 1,000 Chrono Tokens for 100 Units, providing further incentive to complete battle pass challenges.
Despite the brief server interruption, player sentiment toward Marvel Rivals remains largely optimistic.
