Epic Games recently addressed performance concerns surrounding their Unreal Engine 5 in a published article and subsequent discussions.  The company acknowledged existing performance bottlenecks and offered advice to game developers on optimizing their projects.

The article highlighted the need for improvements in Unreal Engine 5's content creation tools, in addition to enhancing shader compilation efficiency. Developers reported spending valuable time troubleshooting issues that, ideally, should be addressed by Epic themselves.

With a growing number of developers transitioning from proprietary graphics engines to commercial solutions like Unity and Unreal Engine,  it is projected that Unreal Engine 5 could power up to 40% of game development within the next few years.
