The rhythm-based fitness game, Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer, has just received a new update adding content and squashing bugs. This marks the third update for the Nintendo Switch title since its release in late 2024, demonstrating a continued commitment to improving the player experience.

While no fitness game has reached the widespread phenomenon of Nintendo's Wii Fit, several titles have successfully blended gaming with physical activity. Fitness Boxing 3 represents the fifth entry in the series on the Nintendo Switch, although not all previous installments remain available.

The latest update introduces Hiro, a new trainer available immediately upon downloading the free update.  Players can now select Hiro to guide their workouts.  For those dedicated to their virtual fitness journey, a workout history screen has been added to the "My Data" section, allowing users to review their last 100 sessions.  This feature offers valuable insight into progress and consistency.

Several exercises have also been refined, including Beginner Sit Fit Low and Normal, SP Defensive and Weaving Combo High, and SP Double Waist Shape Combo High.  Further improvements include minor UI adjustments and bug fixes.

Beyond the free update, players can enhance their workouts with the Fitness Boxing 3: Encore Tunes EX collection. This paid DLC introduces three new songs described as featuring retro video game sounds and EDM-inspired beats. These tracks can be incorporated into EX Exercises and daily suggested routines. The DLC is available for $0.99 USD or its regional equivalent.

The portability of the Nintendo Switch makes games like Fitness Boxing 3 appealing for those seeking convenient workout options.  Users can exercise virtually anywhere, adding to the overall accessibility.  Nintendo has seen prior success in the fitness gaming genre on the Switch, notably with Ring Fit Adventure.

Games like Fitness Boxing 3 and Ring Fit Adventure offered valuable at-home workout solutions, particularly during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic when access to gyms and personal trainers was limited. This highlights the ongoing relevance and potential of fitness gaming.
