Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 Update: Human Torch, The Thing, and Gameplay Enhancements

NetEase Games has released the full patch notes for Marvel Rivals' highly anticipated mid-season update, bringing version 20250221 to the popular hero shooter.  Following the introduction of Dracula as the main antagonist and Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman as playable characters in Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, the conflict intensifies with significant changes coming to the game.

The Fantastic Four roster expands with the arrival of Human Torch and The Thing.  These iconic heroes bring unique abilities to the battlefield. Human Torch, a fiery Duelist, wields flame-based attacks, including scorching walls and fiery tornadoes.  The Thing enters the fray as a powerful Vanguard, boasting high durability and protective capabilities.  His ground slam attack manipulates terrain, damaging structures and launching enemies airborne.  Teaming up three or more Fantastic Four members, including Invisible Woman, grants a durability bonus.

Responding to community feedback, Quick Match now prevents player replacements near the end of a match, eliminating the frustrating experience of joining a match just as it concludes.  Players also gain the long-requested ability to delete their accounts.

For players ranked Diamond 3 and above, a new option allows them to hide their name at the start of matches, preventing targeted hero bans by opposing teams.  The update also features optimized matchmaking, promising faster queue times.

As previously mentioned in a developer diary, excess Chrono Tokens can now be converted into Units. Server maintenance is scheduled for 1 AM PST with an estimated downtime of three hours.

The patch notes further detail changes coming to Heroes and Costumes, Maps and Modes, the Season Battle Pass, Season Story Events, Ranked play, and general gameplay improvements across all platforms.  PC-specific updates include enhancements to graphics and settings, while console versions will also receive platform-specific adjustments.  A comprehensive list of bug fixes and optimizations addresses issues across all platforms, including general gameplay, maps and modes, and specific hero abilities.
