The highly anticipated sci-fi life sim, Ekoh Beach, has released a demo ahead of its April 4th launch.  While initial comparisons to Stardew Valley were frequent, the hands-on demo reveals a distinct and engaging experience.

Announced in 2024 by Zenland Games, Ekoh Beach invites players to rebuild the tropical coastal town of Ekoh 99 on a distant planet. Following a robot rebellion, players take on the role of town planner, utilizing futuristic tools like the ZCleaner and ProtoScanner to gather resources and restore the town to its former glory.

The demo, available on Steam, offers approximately three hours of gameplay, allowing players to explore sections of Ekoh 99, restore their homes and an interdimensional bakery, delve into four levels of the game's mines, encounter two enemy types, and befriend 11 of the game’s 35 NPCs.

Zenland Games CEO, Damien Mac Namara, acknowledges the Stardew Valley comparisons but emphasizes the team's deliberate departure from farming mechanics. Their focus is on forging a unique identity within the cozy life sim genre, promising a fresh experience for players.
