Techland, the developers of the popular Dying Light series, recently commemorated the franchise's 10th anniversary with a celebratory in-game event for Dying Light 2 and a glimpse into the future, including a content roadmap extending into 2025.

The four-week anniversary celebration in Dying Light 2 includes special discounts, returning game modes, and free skin bundles for players still enjoying the original Dying Light.  A special 'hypermode' event is also planned for the original title.

In a recent announcement, Techland stated, "As we celebrate a decade of Dying Light, we are also diligently working on the next ten years for the franchise. Our recent major brand refresh aims to establish the series as the ultimate zombie experience across all future projects." This summer, the team will release Dying Light: Bad Blood, a new DLC expanding the universe.

To mark the anniversary, Dying Light 2 will be offered at its lowest price ever.  Players of the original game will receive a free skin bundle. Both games will feature further in-game activities, including new and returning special modes.

Starting February 19th,  the Tower Raids game mode in Dying Light 2 will become a permanent feature. Techland also hosted a special livestream event called 'Light Up The Night' to commemorate the occasion.

Looking ahead, Dying Light 2 will receive a substantial update this spring, followed by a new event in the summer. A Halloween-themed limited-time event and a corresponding "Autumn Update" are slated for fall, culminating in a "Winter Tales" event at the end of the year.  Over the course of the year, players can expect:

• Co-op and matchmaking updates

• New Tower Raids characters

• New firearms and melee weapons

• Community map support

• Prologue improvements

• Free cosmetic items and gear

• Technical and visual enhancements

Techland concluded its announcement with a promise to fans:  "Our plans for expanding the franchise don't stop with Bad Blood.  We'll continue to grow the series through multiple unannounced projects, extending beyond video games to encompass a new board game, exclusive merchandise, an original webcomic series, and more.  Our goal is to share the world of Dying Light with even more people."
